Atlantica Aeneas Resort is a step further in regards to quality, food safety & hygiene, environmental management and occupational safety & health. The Hotel is certified by the national certification body (Cyprus Certification Company) and operates through an Integrated Management System constituted by the International Standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005, ISO 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007 correspondingly. The company’s policy clearly states as follows:

“The management of the Atlantica Aeneas Resort is committed to providing guests with five-star hotel services and products.  The hotel’s facilities and the service provided by our staff are destined to meet guests’ requirements and expectations, we are committed in the provision of safe products, food and beverages, to our guests, we are sensitive to the needs of environmental preservation thus are committed to safeguard the environment by appropriate management of the hotel operations and last but not least we are committed to a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, all persons working under the control of our company,  sub-contractors, guests and the public at large.

To this end we have developed and implement an Integrated Management System (IMS) according to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 International Standards. Through the establishment and implementation of our IMS, the hotel seeks to identify and meet guests’ requirements, to act within the national legal framework and to continually improve products and services and the effectiveness of our processes.

Regarding food safety, the management identifies and evaluates the possible hazards (physical, chemical, biological) throughout the chain of production and handling of foods. From the possible hazards the management identifies the Critical Control Points based on Decision Tree Diagram and places a monitoring and control plan in order to ensure that the Critical Control Points do not exceed the critical limits. At the same time the Management ensures the application of rules of personal hygiene of personnel that handles food.

Regarding environmental management we periodically assess our environmental impacts prioritise them and set objectives and targets in order to improve the hotel’s environmental performance. For each target an action plan is put in place to achieve it.  Continuous monitoring is applied to ensure conformance to the target, legal and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Regarding Occupational Health and Safety we act so as to provide, maintain and improve a safe and healthy work environment, in accordance with industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements and will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result in property damage, incidents, or personal injury/illness. All Management, Superintendents, Supervisors and Workers are required to make every effort to ensure the Aeneas Hotel meets all legislative requirements and maintains the highest safety standards and all perform their jobs properly in accordance with the established procedures and safe work practises.

We have developed a suitable management structure to support and accommodate the IMS of the hotel.  The entire IMS is overseen by the IMS Manager whereas 4 Coordinators are assigned to fulfil the technical requirements involved in the sections of quality, food safety, environment and occupational health and safety.

The system, through the management reviews is fed with objectives and targets which through action plans are implemented. The objectives and targets are continuously reviewed and revised. We emphasise on:

• The provision of suitable and appropriate resources, that is to say the infrastructure, the equipment, the scientific data and the human potential so as  to ensure the effective implementation of the system.
• The continuous education of personnel.
• The conformity with relevant legislation, regulations and agreed and contractual obligations and requirements towards our collaborators and guests.

Internal audits undertaken facilitate the identification of non-conformities and discrepancies and provide a powerful tool for continuous improvement both in regards to our IMS management and IMS performance.
